My meals became colorful plates of lean proteins, healthy fats, whole grains, and plenty of vegetables. I also learned to listen to my body’s hunger cues and eat mindfully. Saying goodbye to processed snacks and sugar-laden treats was tough, but I found satisfying alternatives like fresh fruit and nuts.

Exercise was another challenge, given my joint pain and decreased energy. Instead of forcing myself into intense workouts, I discovered activities I genuinely enjoyed. Walking became my daily ritual—a time to clear my mind and stay active. Gentle yoga and swimming also helped improve my flexibility and strength without putting too much strain on my body. 

3. Staying Consistent 

Consistency became my mantra. There were no quick fixes or crash diets. Instead, I committed to small, manageable steps each day. Some days were harder than others, but I reminded myself that progress, not perfection, was the goal. 

The Role of Support and Self-Care
